Aluminium Fabrication
What is Aluminium Fabrication?
With a similar approach to the fabrication of other metals, aluminium fabrication is the process of shaping metal into a finished product through bending, folding, forming, shearing and welding. This metal is flexible and yet strong so it can be used in a wide range of industries including marine, aviation, construction and much more. Our aluminium fabrication services can offer your business the solutions it needs.

Examples of Aluminum Marine Consultants Fabrication Experience
Fuel Tanks
Aluminium Marine Consultants (AMC) has a vast experience of producing fuel tanks for many clients and offer a bespoke fabrication service in accordance with British quality standards, which can be customised to fit the client's needs. Tanks can also be used to store other liquids like water, food products, beverages or milk.
Aluminium is the perfect material for fabrication of fuel tanks and especially for hydraulic oil tanks as the thermal conductivity of aluminium is so high. It is possible to arrange tank fabrication in such a way that will promote cooling of the oil in the tank better and permit smaller tank size by volume. Due to aluminium being much less dense than steel, it is often the material of choice for fabrication of fuel tanks that are used in workboats due to the substantial saving in weight.
There are several available options when it comes to marine design tanks, water tanks or custom petrol tanks. Generally, boat fuel tanks are shaped to accommodate curvatures of the boat and have baffles inside that will minimize movement of fuel when at sea. Marine fuel tanks can be fabricated out of different materials depending on the design requirements.
Aluminium Marine Consultants and The Black Arrow
The Black Arrow was a British Satellite Carrier Rocket that was developed in the 1960s and is still to this day is the fasted vehicle Britain ever produced, reaching a top speed of 17,000 MPH, whilst also the only successful orbital mission conducted by the United Kingdom in 1971.
The first and second stage build of the Black Arrow was built in our hometown of Cowes, Isle of Wight, with her engines also being test-fired on the Isle at High Down (The Needles) in 1964. It is little known that the Isle of Wight played a pivotal role in Britain’s space and nuclear industry during this time; however, it was later withdrawn in favour of developing Concorde.
Aluminium Marine Consultants supplied fabrication and manufacturing work to produce a 46ft life-sized replica of the famous Black Arrow to the client's requirements which is now on display at the Isle of Wight Aviation Museum. The 450kg aluminium unit was built in 2 parts by our team before being shipped to her new home in Sandown, where she was fitted with a fibreglass nosecone produced by a local wind turbine builder.
